Susan Cameron Wilson was born on August 30, 1948, in Prince, West Virginia, to Fred William and Nitocris Kate Poindexter. She was one of ten children. She often shared memories of going to church with her father and attending the Kingdom Hall with her mother—experiences that led to her dedication as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1969. Her faith was central to her life, and she found great joy in helping “the friends” in any way she could.

A few years later, on September 2, 1972, Susan married the love of her life, Robert Wilson Sr. They built a beautiful life together, filled with travel, music, and countless concerts—especially 70’s soul shows, which they loved. One of their favorites, “Stay In My Corner” by The Dells, became their song and a reflection of their deep bond. Together they became proud parents to Robert Jr. and Robyn, and Susan wholeheartedly embraced her roles as both wife and mother.

She was known for her annual garage sales on Taylor Road, the beautiful jewelry she created, and for being a wonderful cook and baker. She was especially known for her pound cake and pineapple coconut cakes, recipes she learned from her mother-in-law and later passed down to her children, with Robyn becoming the better baker of the two.

Susan loved being behind the wheel, whether traveling back to her home state of West Virginia to see family, visiting Indiana to spend time with her grandmother-in-law (whom she later lovingly cared for), or working as a driver transporting cars from city to city for Avis. She also worked as a secretary at Cleveland State University, where she even served as scorekeeper for the basketball team, and later retired as a medical secretary from the Cleveland Clinic.

Above all, Susan’s devotion to Jehovah was unwavering. Even as Alzheimer’s disease began to take its toll, she continued to think she was preparing for meetings, service, or conventions. Friends who visited her in the facility often found her still eager to witness and share her faith.

On September 1, 2025, Susan peacefully succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease. She will be deeply missed as a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred William and Nitocris; her brothers Fred Jr., Linville, Keith, and Joel; and her sisters Judith and Patricia. She leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Wilson Sr.; her children, Robert Jr. (Lesley) and Robyn; her siblings John, Douglas and Lillian, her cherished nephew, Shaun Wilson (Jenny) ; along with several other nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who became like family.
